Telescopic Spindle Extension BLUCAST DN 25-600
The BLUCAST telescopic extension spindle is engineered for surface operation of buried gate valves in municipal water distribution networks, raw water mains and industrial utility piping systems. It bridges the depth between the buried valve stem and the street surface box, so the valve can be opened and closed from ground level with a standard operating key, without building a concrete chamber. The range covers valve nominal diameters from DN 25 to DN 600, in eight telescopic size steps from DN 25-63 up to DN 500-600.
The internal shaft is a square telescopic spindle in hot-dip galvanised steel, rigid enough to transfer opening and closing torque without play during high-load switching cycles. The outer protective sleeve and the internal centring collars are high-density polyethylene (HDPE), shielding the steel against soil pressure, gravel compaction, root intrusion and aggressive groundwater. The top operating cap and the bottom valve coupling bell are cast in ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7 and protected by a thermoset epoxy powder coating of minimum 250 micrometres in RAL 5015 sky blue, the standard BLUCAST corrosion protection.
The continuously adjustable telescopic design absorbs variable trench depths and site grading changes without cutting, pinning or on-site welding; self-adjusting friction sleeves hold the set elevation during backfilling, while dirt scrapers keep sand and debris out of the sliding mechanism. The assembly is maintenance-free under heavy road traffic and harsh soil conditions.
- Nominal diameter range: DN 25 – DN 600, eight telescopic variants
- Spindle: hot-dip galvanised steel, square drive profile, high torsional rigidity
- Protective casing and centring collars: impact-resistant HDPE
- Drive cap and adaptor bell: ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7
- Corrosion protection: epoxy powder coating, min. 250 micrometres, RAL 5015 sky blue
- Application: direct-buried gate valve operation through a street surface box
