The ELGEF Plus End Cap PE100 SDR17 from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is a long-version spigot termination for polyethylene pressure networks. It seals the end of a main, of a branch line or of a section left for future extension, and it is joined with exactly the same techniques as the pipe itself: electrofusion with a coupler slid over the spigot, or butt fusion against the prepared pipe end. The body is produced from 100% virgin PE100 resin approved by the PE100+ association, so the termination carries the same long-term hydrostatic behaviour as the pipeline it closes.

The range covers diameters d50 to d1000 mm in SDR17, rated PN10 — 10 bar for water and 5 bar for gas. Wall thickness (s1) runs from 3.0 mm at d50 up to 59.3 mm at d1000, and the spigot is compatible with pipe series SDR 9 through SDR 26, so the cap can also terminate heavier-walled mains where the project specifies them. Dimensions conform to EN 12201-1 for water applications and EN 1555-3 for gas. From d450 upwards the caps are fabricated from seamless pipe instead of being injection moulded, which keeps the wall structure homogeneous at large diameters.

All components are permanently embossed, so material, dimension and production data stay readable on site and remain traceable after the joint is made. The polyethylene body is corrosion-free, UV-resistant and impact-resistant under all climatic conditions, including open-air storage on site before installation. The fitting is approved by DVGW, SVGW, KIWA and FM, covering drinking water, gas and fire-protection duties.
