The ELGEF Plus 90-degree bend in PE100 SDR17 is an engineered spigot fitting produced from seamless high-density polyethylene pipe, manufactured by Georg Fischer for high-integrity pressurised piping systems. Operating at a maximum nominal pressure of 10 bar for water and 5 bar for gas distribution, this fitting provides an efficient directional transition across industrial networks, water mains, and underground infrastructure. Sourced through BigWeld as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, the ELGEF Plus range delivers verified dimensional consistency and full batch traceability for utility installations.

Constructed with an extended centerline bend radius of 1.5×d (R = 75 mm to 1500 mm), the seamless pipe geometry minimizes flow turbulence, head loss, and hydraulic pressure drop. The seamless extrusion process guarantees a homogeneous wall cross-section free from longitudinal weld seams, preserving uniform hoop stress capacity throughout the bend body. Available across outside diameters from d50 mm up to d1000 mm (DN40 to DN1000), wall thicknesses strictly adhere to SDR17 ratios, ranging from 3.0 mm at d50 up to 59.3 mm at d1000. In accordance with Georg Fischer technical instructions, these seamless bends must not be cut or shortened after fabrication, as spigot lengths and curvature geometry are calibrated to maintain full pressure resistance.

The fitting features long cylindrical spigot ends with L dimensions from 80 mm to 450 mm and z dimensions from 195 mm to 1900 mm. These long spigot ends ensure full jointing versatility, allowing direct welding via butt fusion or connection with electrofusion couplers. The spigots provide ample clamping area for alignment rigs and electrofusion scrapers while maintaining the required cold zones during welding. The PE100 resin provides superior resistance to stress cracking, chemical attack, and external soil corrosion, ensuring decades of maintenance-free service.
