The ELGEF Plus 60 degrees bend is a seamless PE100 spigot fitting manufactured by Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) for directional changes in pressurised polyethylene networks. It is formed from high-density polyethylene pressure pipe with a standardised bending radius of 1.5 times the outside diameter, and covers d32 to d900 mm (DN25 to DN900) in SDR11, rated 16 bar for water at 20 degrees Celsius and 10 bar for gas.

Wall thickness across the range runs from 2.9 to 81.8 mm, the bend radius R from 48 to 1350 mm, the spigot leg length L from 80 to 400 mm and the z dimension from 128 to 1150 mm. The curved section carries no longitudinal or circumferential weld seams, so no stress-concentration points or flow disturbances are introduced under cyclic pressure loading, while the smooth bore limits scaling and sediment build-up. Bends produced from seamless pipe shall not be shortened or trimmed on site, since this alters the structural profile and the rated pressure capability of the fitting.

The extended spigot ends give full jointing flexibility: enough clamping length and cold-zone clearance for ELGEF Plus electrofusion couplers, and correct alignment in the clamps of butt fusion machines welded according to DVS 2207. The bend integrates with the complete ELGEF Plus spigot programme of elbows, tees, reducers, end caps and stop-off valves.

PE100 provides high impact strength, high resistance to slow crack growth and broad chemical compatibility, which suits this bend to potable water mains, water treatment plant, industrial process lines, abrasive media transport and natural gas distribution networks.
