The ELGEF Plus 15 degrees elbow from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is an electrofusion fitting in PE100, SDR 11, built for utility-grade water and gas distribution networks. It is rated at 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas and covers a diameter range of d32 to d315 mm across 16 sizes, so a single fitting family serves both service connections and trunk mains. The 15 degree angle is used wherever a pipeline needs a small, controlled change of direction — following a road curve, correcting trench alignment or adjusting gradient — without resorting to a 30 or 45 degree change or to cold bending of the pipe.

The fitting is manufactured from PE100 virgin resin approved by the PE100+ Association, in the long version, with a welded-body construction that maintains structural integrity across the full pressure class. The estimated system lifetime is 100 years under the design conditions of the standards it is certified to. Wall thickness (s1) follows the SDR 11 series, from 3 mm at d32 up to 29 mm at d315, and full dimensional and weight data is available per size.

Electrofusion welding produces a homogeneous, end-load-resistant joint that behaves like the pipe itself, which makes the elbow suitable for buried, non-accessible sections where mechanical couplings are not acceptable. Pipe ends must be scraped, cleaned and clamped before fusion, and the weld cycle executed with a compatible electrofusion processor following the parameters carried by the fitting.
