The ELGEF Plus Bend 60 degrees PE100 SDR17 is a long-version spigot fitting produced by Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) from seamless PE100 pipe and rated PN10 — 10 bar for water and 5 bar for gas in the SDR17 series. The range runs from d90 to d1000mm (DN80–DN1000), with wall thicknesses between 5.4mm and 59.3mm and a 1.5×d bend radius.

Forming the bend from seamless pipe rather than welding segments together keeps the wall thickness uniform along the whole arc and leaves no seam in the pressure-bearing section. The long 1.5×d radius changes direction gradually, so head loss and turbulence remain lower than with a tight moulded elbow — an advantage on transmission mains, pumped lines and wherever surge behaviour has to be controlled.

Dimensional data across the range: bend radius R from 135mm to 1500mm, laying dimension z from 193mm to 1200mm and spigot leg length L from 100mm to 450mm. Twenty-one diameters are available, each with spigot ends conforming to standard pipe outside-diameter tolerances for direct integration into PE100 pipeline systems.

Both joining methods are supported: electrofusion couplers fitted over the spigot ends, or conventional butt fusion to pipe, fittings and flange adaptors of the same SDR. Bends made from seamless pipe must not be shortened on site — the spigot legs provide the clamping and heating length the welding procedure requires, and cutting them back also removes the straight section needed for coupler alignment.
