The ELGEF Plus Bend 45 degrees PE100 SDR17 is a long-version spigot fitting from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems), produced from seamless PE100 pipe and rated PN10 (10 bar, water). The range runs from d90 to d1000 mm (DN80-DN1000) in 21 diameters, and the 1.5 x d bend radius keeps flow conditions smooth and local pressure loss low wherever a 45 degree change of direction is required in a polyethylene main.

Because the body is formed from seamless pipe rather than injection moulded, the wall thickness follows the parent pipe and runs from 5.4 mm at d90 up to 59.3 mm at d1000. The bend radius R spans 135 to 1500 mm, the z dimension 177 to 1200 mm and the spigot length L 100 to 450 mm, so laying lengths and anchor positions can be set out accurately at design stage. Every size shares the same SDR17 wall series, which in the ELGEF Plus programme corresponds to 10 bar for water and 5 bar for gas duty.

Both spigot ends are prepared for the two standard polyethylene jointing techniques: electrofusion couplers or conventional butt fusion carried out to DVS welding practice. Important: bends manufactured from seamless pipe must not be shortened on site — the spigot lengths are fixed in manufacture and have to be kept intact for the fusion joint.
