The Georg Fischer PP-V metric backing flange is an engineered thermoplastic loose flange designed for jointing large-diameter polyethylene piping systems from d250 to d400 mm. Manufactured from 30% glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), this non-metallic backing ring provides reliable structural stiffness and high mechanical strength while eliminating the corrosion vulnerabilities associated with coated steel or ductile iron rings. The reinforced composite matrix ensures uniform bolt load distribution across the sealing face of the polyethylene stub without localized point-loading or flange distortion. The full-plastic construction provides complete chemical resistance against aggressive soil conditions, industrial atmospheres, and corrosive media, making external painting or anti-corrosion taping unnecessary.

This dimensional series covers pipe outer diameters d250, d280, d315, d355, and d400 mm, corresponding to nominal diameters DN250 through DN400 with standard metric bolt hole drillings.
