Tee 90° reduced PE100 SDR11 PN16

The ELGEF Plus Tee 90 degrees reduced PE100 SDR11 from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is an injection-moulded spigot fitting that forms a reduced branch on pressurised polyethylene mains. It belongs to the ELGEF Plus spigot programme, where the body is produced entirely in PE100 and finished with long spigot ends on both the run and the branch, so the fitting is welded directly into the line with no transition material and no change of pipe grade at the junction.

The injection-moulded version covers main diameters from d63 to d315 mm (DN50 to DN300) with branch outlets from d32 to d250 mm, including intermediate combinations such as 140 x 90, 140 x 125 and 160 x 125. Wall thicknesses follow the SDR11 series and run from 5.8/3.0 mm on the smallest body to 28.6/22.7 mm on the largest. The pressure rating is 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas; the d315 x 90 and d315 x 110 combinations additionally carry FM 1613 approval at 15 bar.

Both joining methods are supported. The long spigot lengths give enough parallel surface for standard electrofusion couplers to be slid fully over the ends under trench conditions, while the same ends can be faced and welded by butt fusion where heated-tool equipment is used on the pipe string. A fused connection keeps the branch homogeneous with the pipeline: no elastomer seals and no mechanical restraint are required at the tee.

Typical applications are potable water distribution, irrigation mains, gas distribution networks and industrial process lines, where PE100 provides chemical resistance and long-term pressure integrity over the service life of the system. Supplied by BigWeld, authorised Georg Fischer distributor.
