The Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) metric ABS reducing bush adapts a metric solvent cement spigot to a parallel female thread, covering outside diameters from d20 mm up to d63 mm with internal threads from Rp 3/8" to Rp 1 1/2". The bush is rated PN10, that is 10 bar at 20 degrees C in water service, and is supplied across Europe by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, for cooling circuits, chilled water distribution, water treatment plant, marine installations and drinking water systems.

The body is moulded in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) in RAL 7001 gravel grey and carries an integrated grade A2 stainless steel ring around the Rp thread. That metal collar absorbs the hoop stress generated when a male threaded fitting is made up, preventing radial dilation and stress cracking caused by over-tightening. The halogen-free thermoplastic keeps its notch impact strength at sub-zero temperatures, does not scale and stays chemically inert to glycol-based secondary refrigerants, demineralised water and potable water.

The plain spigot end is jointed by standard solvent cementing into any socket of the metric ABS range, using Tangit ABS cement with the matching cleaner. The parallel Rp thread then accepts metal valves, instrumentation, gauges and threaded polymer fittings directly, while the smooth internal bore keeps friction loss and sedimentation low over decades of continuous operation. The same programme supplies metric ABS pipe in PN10, RAL 7001 gravel grey, in 5 m plain-ended lengths, so the bush integrates into an all-ABS cooling line without further adaptors.
