Reducer PE100 SDR11 PN16

The ELGEF Plus Reducer PE100 SDR11 (long version) by Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is a concentric spigot reducer used to step a welded polyethylene line down to a smaller diameter without introducing a mechanical joint. It is manufactured from PE100 high-density polyethylene and carries plain spigot ends on both sides, so the diameter change becomes an integral, fully fused part of the pipeline. Both ends accept either electrofusion or butt fusion, which allows the fitting to be built into prefabricated spool pieces in the workshop or welded directly in the trench with the same equipment already used for the pipe.

The range covers outside diameters from d25 to d630 mm (DN20 to DN600), with wall thicknesses from 3.0 mm to 57.3 mm following the SDR 11 dimension series. The fitting is rated PN16 for water and PN10 for gas service. Selected sizes between d110 and d315 mm additionally carry FM 1613 approval at 15 bar, which is relevant where that approval is called up by the project specification.

The long spigot ends (Q1/Q2) provide the insertion depth required by ELGEF Plus electrofusion couplers and sufficient clamping and facing length for butt fusion machines, so no additional pipe stub has to be welded on either side of the reducer. The fitting is compatible with ELGEF Plus electrofusion fittings and with standard butt fusion equipment, making it suitable for potable water distribution, irrigation mains, gas networks at the reduced rating and industrial process lines in PE100.
