The PVC-KG socket plug SN4 (KGM) is an engineered unplasticized polyvinyl chloride pipe fitting designed for sealing open socket ends in non-pressure underground gravity sewer and drainage systems. Manufactured via precision injection molding in characteristic orange RAL 8023, the component serves as a reliable end closure for buried municipal wastewater, industrial effluent, and meteoric rainwater networks installed outside building perimeters. Designed with a nominal ring stiffness of SN4, the plug is fully compatible with both SN4 and SN2 sewer pipeline infrastructures, including solid wall and multilayer pipe assemblies. The operating mechanism relies on smooth spigot insertion directly into the profiled receiving socket of a pipe, fitting, or inspection chamber port, creating an impermeable barrier against liquid leakage and soil infiltration when compressed against the integrated synthetic EPDM elastomer gasket. Engineered from rigid PVC-U, the plug exhibits exceptional structural stability, long-term dimensional retention, and total resistance to biological degradation, electrochemical corrosion, and the corrosive influence of ground chemicals. Its advanced formulation ensures outstanding chemical compatibility across an extensive pH spectrum ranging from 2 to 12, withstanding continuous fluid media operating temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius in smaller diameters and 40 degrees Celsius in larger dimensions, with temporary surges up to 60 degrees Celsius permitted. The exceptionally smooth, non-porous exterior and interior surfaces prevent incrustation, microbial build-up, and sediment accumulation at blind pipeline terminations. Serving crucial roles in phase-delayed civil construction, scheduled network expansions, system testing, or permanent branch dead-ending, the plug maintains full joint tightness even under ground movement, structural settlement, and standard buried soil loads.
