The Georg Fischer profiled backing flange steel PN6 is an engineered loose flange developed for high-integrity connections in large-diameter polyethylene piping networks. Designed for metric PE systems joined via butt fusion, this heavy-duty flange accommodates pipe outside diameters from d710 up to d900 (DN700 to DN900) rated for PN6 operating conditions. Engineered to overcome the mechanical challenges of large-diameter thermoplastic installations, the component features a specialised profiled mating face. This internal geometry mirrors the shoulder contour of metric PE flange adaptors, distributing bolt tension evenly across the full rear sealing shoulder. By eliminating localized point loads during assembly, the profiled configuration prevents stress cracking and collar distortion over decades of service. The outer face remains entirely planar, providing a rigid seating plane for washers and standard bolts.

Connecting dimensions fully comply with ISO 7005, EN 1092-1, and DIN 2501 standards. The flange utilizes an industry-standard PN10 bolt circle pattern accommodating M27 to M30 hardware across 24 to 28 bolt holes, ensuring full compatibility with industrial valves, flow meters, and metal pipeline connections.
