The PP non-return valve is engineered for gravity soil, waste discharge, and ventilation networks within building drainage infrastructure, providing reliable protection against sewer backflow, flooding, and noxious odour ingress. Manufactured from impact-resistant polypropylene, the valve integrates an internal one-way flap mechanism that operates automatically under fluid movement, allowing full, unobstructed forward discharge while closing against hydraulic reversal. For operational security, the removable top inspection chamber incorporates a manual emergency shut-off lever, enabling positive mechanical isolation of the drainage line during severe municipal backwater events or scheduled system inspection. The robust thermoplastic housing delivers exceptional chemical resistance across a working spectrum of pH 2 to pH 12, withstanding corrosive domestic wastewater, commercial dishwashing effluents, harsh laundry detergents, acidic aqueous fluids, and caustic solutions without material degradation. Engineered with a low Manning roughness coefficient of 0.01, the internal hydraulic channel ensures minimal friction loss, preventing the sedimentation of suspended solids and encrustation over prolonged duty cycles. The unit accommodates continuous working fluid temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius and intermittent surges up to 95 degrees Celsius, while sustaining mechanical integrity at low temperatures down to -15 degrees Celsius. Push-fit socket ends featuring factory-mounted EPDM elastomeric sealing rings ensure airtight and watertight jointing across diameters D50, D110, D125, and D160 mm, absorbing linear thermal expansion and system vibrations to deliver a minimum expected operational service life of 50 years.
