The mechanical saddle provides a secure, efficient branch connection for existing unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) gravity sewer mains without requiring pipe cutting or pipeline interruption. Engineered specifically for external underground drainage and non-pressure sewerage networks, this mechanical branching component enables the direct installation of a 90 degrees lateral line with an outer diameter of 160 mm onto mainline collectors ranging from 250 mm to 500 mm outside diameter (specifically DN 250, DN 315, DN 400, and DN 500 mm). The mechanical saddle features a robust contoured PVC body with an integrated 160 mm socket branch geometry (height H = 116 mm, collar width A = 168 mm) designed to match the external profile of standard sewer pipes. Mechanical fixation is achieved through an internal compression mechanism tightened securely onto the host pipe wall over a precisely cored hole cut with a 160/168 mm core drill, utilizing a dedicated mechanical saddle installation key. High-grade elastomeric profile gaskets ensure an immediate, watertight, and soil-tight joint that accommodates minor ground movement, structural settling, and cyclic thermal expansion without compromising integrity. By completely eliminating the need to cut into operational sewer infrastructure, excavate large clearance areas, or install costly conventional branch tees, the saddle preserves the axial load-bearing capacity and ring stiffness of the main sewer line.
