The Georg Fischer Type 038 Lug is a metal quarter-turn butterfly valve built for bidirectional isolation, throttling and end-of-line service in industrial piping systems. The ductile iron GGG40 (EN-JIS 1020) body is rated PN16 and delivers tight shut-off on liquid and gaseous media. Threaded eyelets matching metric flange drillings allow the valve to be bolted directly between mating flanges or fitted at a pipe termination, so downstream equipment can be removed without depressurising the upstream line.

The body carries a Rilsan® polyamide coating that resists chemical attack, abrasion and atmospheric weathering, making the valve suitable for harsh process duties. The disc is precision-cast in corrosion-resistant aluminium-bronze for cavitation resistance and mechanical strength under continuous flow, while sealing is handled by a replaceable profiled elastomer liner, available in EPDM for water and utility applications or FKM where chemically aggressive fluids are handled. Torque is transmitted through a one-piece square shaft in 1.4021 stainless steel, which prevents stem slippage and keeps disc positioning accurate.

Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 series 20, so the valve drops into existing metric pipework without rework. The integrated top flange conforms to DIN EN ISO 5211 and accepts a lockable hand lever, a worm-gear operator or pneumatic and electric actuators without an intermediate bracket. The range covers DN50 to DN200, with outside pipe diameters from 63 mm to 225 mm.
