The Type 305 PVC-U line strainer manufactured by Georg Fischer is an industrial inline filtration device designed to protect downstream mechanical equipment, including dosing pumps, measuring sensors, and industrial valves, from pipe scale and suspended solids. Fabricated from high-grade unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U), this Y-pattern strainer provides mechanical filtration across fluid handling networks, chemical processing loops, industrial water treatment plants, and commercial aquatic facilities. Rated for a nominal operating pressure of 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius, the unit delivers consistent operational reliability in pressurized thermoplastic lines ranging from outer diameter d20 mm up to d90 mm.

Engineered with an inclined sedimentation chamber, the Y-body configuration optimizes fluid dynamics to minimize pressure loss while guiding solid particulates directly toward the cylindrical screen insert. The internal screen assembly is accessible through an ergonomic threaded access cap, facilitating rapid servicing, cleaning, or screen replacement without requiring the disassembly of the main strainer body from the pipeline. Depending on application requirements, the strainer accommodates interchangeable thermoplastic filter screens with standard mesh apertures, ensuring precise particulate retention without causing severe hydraulic bottlenecks or cavitation in downstream pump suction lines.
