The Georg Fischer Fuseal Fast-Lock P-trap with union connection is an advanced flame-retardant polypropylene drainage fitting developed specifically for corrosive laboratory waste, hospital DWV networks, life science facilities, and industrial chemical process effluents. Designed to establish an impenetrable liquid barrier that prevents toxic sewer gases and hazardous chemical vapors from entering active workspaces, the unit incorporates an integrated polypropylene union nut assembly that facilitates fast dismounting, system inspection, and line cleanout access without requiring pipe cutting. Joining is accomplished through the compact Fast-Lock mechanical joint mechanism across socket-by-socket (S x S) interfaces in 1 1/2-inch and 2-inch sizes, utilizing an engineered collar secured with a standard 8 mm socket driver without grooving tools, solvent cements, or curing delays, permitting immediate hydrostatic pressure testing and instant operational readiness. Built to resist chemical attack from aggressive mineral acids, caustic bases, alcohols, and aqueous salt solutions, the flame-retardant polypropylene formulation delivers continuous service at temperatures up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit (82 degrees Celsius) and handles intermittent discharge surges up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius). The robust joint design withstands internal pressures up to 35 psi, making it fully suitable for vacuum lines and intermittent pumped chemical discharge drainage. Additionally, the heat-stabilized, ultraviolet-resistant pigmentation ensures structural longevity in above-ground exposed runs, while the modular collar design provides interchangeable compatibility with Fuseal electrofusion collars for hybrid layout transitions.
