This industrial PVC-U foot valve with integrated polypropylene (PP) strainer screen is engineered for vertical suction lines in water treatment, irrigation, agricultural, and industrial process piping systems. Rated for nominal operating pressures up to PN16 (16 bar at 20 degrees Celsius) across diameters from d20 mm to d90 mm, the assembly combines an internal non-return check valve mechanism with a coarse suction basket. Installed at the inlet base of a pump suction line, it maintains pump prime during system standstill, eliminates liquid backflow, and prevents mechanical cavitation caused by lost suction head.

The valve body is injection-moulded from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) in industrial dark grey (RAL 7011), delivering excellent chemical resistance against inorganic acids, alkalis, salt solutions, and general process water. The perforated strainer cage, constructed from tough polypropylene (PP), resists biological fouling, environmental stress cracking, and mechanical impact in submerged sump conditions. Both components are non-corroding, physiologically inert, and compliant with international standards for potable water and foodstuff-grade process handling.

Equipped with metric female solvent weld sockets, the valve connects directly to standard metric PVC-U pressure pipes using solvent cement and cleaner. Internally, the valve features a precision closing body and high-elasticity EPDM elastomer seal, achieving hermetic shut-off even at low static backpressure heads. The streamlined flow geometry through the PP screen slots minimizes hydraulic suction resistance and head loss during operation.
