The Georg Fischer ELGEF Plus 90-degree PE100 SDR17 injected bend is an engineered spigot fitting developed for municipal, utility, and industrial fluid transport networks. Manufactured by Georg Fischer and supplied across Europe by BigWeld as an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, this fitting is specifically designed for buried potable water distribution networks (rated up to PN 10 bar) and natural gas supply lines (rated up to PN 5 bar). The injection-moulded geometry provides seamless transitions, reduced head loss, and hydraulic reliability across all diameters from d90 up to d500 mm.

Engineered from certified PE100 virgin high-density polyethylene resin approved by the PE100+ Association, the ELGEF Plus injected bend offers superior mechanical stability and environmental stress crack resistance. The compound delivers a tensile modulus of elasticity of 900 N/mm² and a Charpy notched impact strength of 83 kJ/m² at 23°C. The elongated spigot ends provide generous clamping areas compatible with both butt fusion welding according to DVS 2207 guidelines and electrofusion jointing using standard ELGEF Plus electrofusion couplers.

Each injected bend features an integrated flow geometry with a bending radius of 1.5×d that minimises turbulence, mitigates internal pressure drops, and prevents sediment accumulation within distribution pipelines. Unlike fabricated or segment-welded fittings, the monobloc injection moulding process ensures continuous wall thickness without internal weld beads, eliminating flow disturbances and structural weak points under continuous pressure cycling, water hammer effects, and ground movements.

Compliance and complete system traceability are integral to the ELGEF Plus range. The fittings comply fully with European standards EN 12201-3 for water infrastructure and EN 1555-3 for gaseous fuel distribution, carrying major certifications including DVGW, KIWA, SVGW, and ÖVGW. Full quality tracking is guaranteed through the integrated GF Track & Trace barcode system. Designed for an estimated service life exceeding 100 years at operating temperatures between -10°C and +40°C, these PE100 bends ensure long-term structural integrity.
