The Georg Fischer PVC-U double socket is a metric solvent cement fitting engineered for the linear jointing of metric unplasticised polyvinyl chloride pipe sections in industrial piping networks. Operating at a nominal pressure of 16 bar (PN16) at 20 degrees Celsius, this precision-moulded component ensures leak-free continuity across process distribution lines. The fitting geometry conforms strictly to ISO and European industrial standards, featuring accurately calibrated socket stops that guarantee correct insertion depth, optimal adhesive distribution, and high mechanical shear strength under operational hydrostatic stress.

Fabricated from high-grade PVC-U material in standard dark grey (RAL 7011), the double socket provides exceptional chemical resistance against mineral acids, alkalis, salts, and corrosive process solutions. It is completely free from plasticisers, rendering it non-toxic and physiologically safe for drinking water supply, demineralised water systems, and municipal water treatment plants. The smooth internal bore ensures minimal pressure loss, superior hydraulic efficiency, and long-term resistance to lime deposition, biofouling, and scaling over an operational design life exceeding 50 years under recommended pressure and temperature conditions.

Installation is accomplished through solvent cementing using certified adhesives such as Tangit PVC-U or Tangit DTX for aggressive chemical media. Reliable execution requires proper square pipe cutting, external chamfering at approximately 15 degrees, thorough cleaning with Tangit cleaner, and uniform axial insertion without twisting. Operating temperature parameters range from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, with corresponding pressure de-rating factors applied above 20 degrees Celsius up to a maximum ambient limit of 45 degrees Celsius for flanged transitions.
