The Georg Fischer Type 240 ABS pneumatic butterfly valve provides automated flow-control for industrial liquid processes requiring dependable shut-off and isolation. Built in a single-acting Fail-Safe to Open (FO) configuration, the pneumatic actuator utilizes internal spring sets to return the disc to the open position if pilot air pressure fails, maintaining open line conditions during power or pressure interruptions. Covering pipe sizes d63 to d140 mm (DN50 to DN125), the valve is rated for nominal operating pressures up to PN10 at 20 degrees Celsius.

Constructed entirely from industrial-grade Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), the valve body offers exceptional impact strength, corrosion resistance, and stable performance in chilled water and industrial water systems. Tight bi-directional sealing is provided by an EPDM elastomer liner that guarantees zero leakage across the entire pressure envelope while minimising operating torque. The wafer-style body fits easily between standard flanges conforming to EN 1092 PN10, ISO 7005, and ANSI B16.5 Class 150, permitting rapid alignment and low installation stress.

Pneumatic operation is driven by a lightweight, rugged PP-GF (glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene) actuator housing resistant to atmospheric corrosion and chemical washdown. Operating at a standard control pressure of 4.2 bar (60.9 psi), it completes a 90 degrees quarter-turn stroke in just 1 to 2 seconds. Standardised accessory mounting is ensured by an integrated NAMUR interface complying with VDI/VDE 3845, ready for pilot solenoid valves or limit switch boxes. A high-visibility visual position indicator allows operating personnel to inspect valve status at a glance.
