Type 244 from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems) is a pneumatically actuated lug butterfly valve built for automated isolation duty in chilled water, water treatment and industrial cooling plant. A single-acting actuator with fail-safe to close (FC) mechanical spring return provides 90 degrees of rotational travel and drives the disc shut whenever pilot air pressure is lost.

The pressure rating is PN10 (10 bar at 20 degrees Celsius) across the full size range, from d63 / DN50 (2 inch) up to d225 / DN200 (8 inch). The housing is moulded from polypropylene reinforced with 30% glass fibre (PP-GF30), the disc is impact-resistant ABS and the profiled EPDM seat provides tight shut-off isolation.

SS316 stainless steel threaded lug inserts match ANSI/ASME B16.5 Class 150 bolt patterns, so the valve can be installed between flanges or used as a dead-end terminal shut-off without upstream or downstream counterflange retention. Face-to-face dimensions follow EN 558 and ISO 5752, keeping the valve dimensionally interchangeable in industrial manifolds and skid assemblies.

The actuator housing is also glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), giving external chemical resistance in aggressive process environments. Modular accessories include optical position indication and integrated limit switch boxes for remote status monitoring.
