The ELGEF Plus 30 degree elbow is an electrofusion fitting from Georg Fischer (GF Piping Systems), designed for PE100 utility distribution networks carrying water and gas. It is rated at 16 bar for water and 10 bar for gas, manufactured in SDR 11 and available in outside diameters from d32 to d315 mm. The integrated heating coils fuse the fitting body to the pipe wall, producing a homogeneous, fully end-load resistant joint that requires no thrust blocks and no additional sealing elements.

A 30 degree change of direction is the standard solution where a trench follows a shallow gradient, or where a buried main has to deviate around an obstacle without the hydraulic penalty of a sharper turn. Because the fitting is welded rather than mechanically assembled, structural integrity is continuous across the fusion zone: the joint carries the same long-term strength as the pipe itself, with an estimated service life of 100 years.

Mechanical performance derives from PE100 virgin resin approved by the PE100+ Association: a tensile E-modulus of 900 N/mm², a yield stress of 25 N/mm² and a Charpy impact strength of 83 kJ/m² at 23 degrees Celsius, values that keep the fitting dependable under ground settlement and cold-weather handling on site.

Above d315, the same 30 degree deviation is covered by fabricated segmented HDPE elbows with long spigot ends, supplied in SDR 11 (PN 16) from 90 mm to 630 mm, with a nominal bending radius of approximately 1.5 x De and spigot lengths of 150 to 350 mm for butt fusion or electrofusion socket welding; other angles are produced on request.
