PVDF diaphragm valve type 514 PN16

  Datasheet (PDF)

The Georg Fischer SYGEF Plus diaphragm valve type 514 is built for precise flow regulation and tight shut-off in ultrapure and high-purity water systems. The body is moulded in unpigmented virgin high-purity polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF-HP), giving broad chemical resistance to oxidising acids, aggressive chemicals, deionised water and sanitising agents while keeping ionic and organic leach-out within the levels monitored under SEMI F40, F48 and F57. Typical duty covers semiconductor fabrication, microelectronics, biotechnology and pharmaceutical process lines.

An optimised internal body geometry delivers up to double the flow coefficient of earlier designs, which lowers pressure drop and turbulence across the seat. A central housing nut replaces the conventional four-bolt pattern and applies uniform circumferential compression over the diaphragm sealing face, preventing local stress peaks and allowing the diaphragm to be serviced or replaced without removing the valve body from the pipework. The ergonomic handwheel carries an integrated locking device that guards against accidental position changes during critical process stages. Sealing is by a PTFE diaphragm with an elastomer backing cushion, so the only fluid-contact surface is fully inert.

The valve is rated PN16 (16 bar at 20 degrees C) and works continuously from -20 degrees C to +140 degrees C, suiting steam sterilisation, hot water sanitisation, ozone treatment and chemical sanitisation. Every unit is manufactured in an ISO Class 5 (Class 100) cleanroom, rinsed with 18 megohm ultrapure deionised water and double-bagged, in line with SEMI F57, FDA 21 CFR 177.2510, USP 25 Class VI and ASME BPE. Connection is by extended metric butt fusion spigots, jointed either by non-contact infrared fusion (IR Plus) to DVS 2207 part 6 or by heated-tool butt fusion to DVS 2207 part 15; infrared fusion is the recommended method for PVDF because it produces a small, repeatable bead without contaminating the bore.
