The Georg Fischer long sweep bend 45 degrees galvanized malleable iron type 41 is a heavy-duty threaded fitting engineered to provide a smooth, low-resistance directional change of 45 degrees in pressurized industrial and utility piping systems. Conforming to standard ISO/EN G1/45 degrees and Design Symbol A, the fitting features female parallel threads (Rp) at both ports in strict compliance with EN 10226-1 and ISO 7-1, ensuring a pressure-tight metal-to-metal sealing joint when engaged with mating taper external pipe threads. In contrast to standard tight elbows, the extended sweep profile incorporates an enlarged centerline bend radius that promotes fluid-dynamic efficiency, significantly suppressing turbulence, cavitation, and localized friction head loss during directional transitions. Manufactured from premium decarburized annealed whiteheart malleable cast iron grade EN-GJMW-400-5, the cast structure combines the high compressive strength of cast iron with exceptional ductility and tensile integrity, absorbing severe vibration, thermal contraction stresses, and hydraulic water hammer. Surface protection is achieved via high-purity hot-dip galvanization applied according to EN 10242, forming a multi-layered iron-zinc metallurgical bond with a coating density exceeding 500 grams per square meter and an average thickness of 70 micrometers. This robust barrier provides long-term resistance against internal scaling, rust formation, and external atmospheric corrosion, making the fitting fully suitable for hygienic potable water supply, industrial cooling circuits, compressed air distribution, fire sprinkler networks, and non-aggressive gas conveying. The fitting maintains dependable pressure containment rated at 25 bar for working temperatures from -20 degrees Celsius up to 120 degrees Celsius, and up to 20 bar at elevated operating temperatures up to 300 degrees Celsius. Standardized z-dimensions simplify layout calculations and pipe prefabrication, delivering rapid alignment and leak-tight reliability across diverse building services and process plant installations.
