The Georg Fischer PROGEF Standard 3-way ball valve type 543 Pro P DA is an engineered assembly for automated horizontal media diversion and distribution in demanding industrial piping systems. The valve body is manufactured by Georg Fischer from high-grade isotactic beta-PP-H (polypropylene homopolymer), a material that combines broad chemical resistance with stable mechanical behaviour throughout the PROGEF Standard range. The horizontal L-port ball geometry allows flow to be redirected between process branches without additional fittings or dead legs.

Actuation is provided by a double-acting pneumatic actuator enclosed in flame-retardant, glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF), a housing material that stays serviceable in atmospheres where metal actuators are exposed to chemical attack or corrosion. The standard control pressure is 5.6 bar, and the integrated NAMUR interface to VDI/VDE 3845 accepts solenoid valves and signalling accessories directly on the actuator. The double-acting mechanism completes the 90 degrees travel in approximately 1 to 2 seconds; this version is supplied without manual override.

A clear optical position indicator gives continuous visual verification of the ball position, while stainless steel threaded inserts in the valve base allow the assembly to be anchored directly to pipe brackets or mounting structures, so support loads are not transferred into the thermoplastic pipe. The internal sealing system uses low-friction PTFE seats backed by elastomeric EPDM or FKM backing rings, giving bi-directional shut-off and bubble-tight isolation according to leak rate A of EN 12266, with leakage testing in line with ISO 9393-2.

The valve is rated for an operating pressure of up to 10 bar (PN10) and is available in metric nominal diameters from d16 to d63 mm with metric socket fusion ends, which produce homogeneous, leak-free joints using standard socket fusion equipment. Typical duties include chemical dosing, industrial effluent treatment and demineralised water distribution.
