The Georg Fischer Type 243 PVC-C pneumatic butterfly valve is engineered for shut-off, throttling, and end-of-line isolation in aggressive chemical environments. Featuring a lug-style body with metric threaded inserts, it enables downstream piping disconnection without draining the upstream line. Supplied by BigWeld, an authorised Georg Fischer distributor, Type 243 pairs high-grade chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) wetted components with a corrosion-resistant pneumatic actuator for demanding industrial applications.

Actuation is powered by a glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) pneumatic actuator operating in fail-safe-to-close (FC) spring-return mode. Operating at a control pressure of 4.2 bar, it executes a 90 degrees stroke in 1 to 2 seconds, providing reliable fail-safe isolation during pneumatic supply failure. The actuator includes standard DIN/ISO 5211 mounting interfaces and an integrated NAMUR VDI/VDE 3845 connection for solenoid valves and positioners, alongside a high-contrast visual position indicator.

Manufactured from PVC-C (RAL 7038 agate grey), the body and disc provide superior resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts at temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. Rated for 10 bar (PN10) at 20 degrees Celsius, the valve is equipped with EPDM or FKM sealing options that ensure bi-directional bubble-tight isolation with low operating torque. Stainless steel A4 threaded inserts absorb mechanical bolting stresses, preserving body alignment and sealing integrity under heavy piping loads.

Conforming to EN 558 and ISO 5752 face-to-face lengths, the valve mounts between standard metric flanges matching EN 1092-1 PN10 and ISO 7005 PN10. It is suitable for chemical distribution, industrial water treatment, electroplating, and surface finishing lines.
