The Georg Fischer type 146 ABS butterfly valve provides automated isolation and modulating flow control across industrial piping networks, water treatment facilities, marine systems, and chilled water loops. Designed with a dedicated Lug-style body configuration, this actuated valve allows direct mechanical bolting between metric flanges as well as secure end-of-line installation, enabling downstream pipe maintenance without draining the upstream process line. The corrosion-proof ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) body and disc assembly offers exceptional impact resistance even at sub-zero working temperatures, making it a dependable alternative to metallic valves in challenging operating environments.

Actuation is handled by a high-performance electric actuator operating on a wide-range supply voltage of 100-230 V at 50-60 Hz. The electric drive features a factory-calibrated 90 degrees operating rotation, driven by a robust gear motor housed in glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene (PP-GF) for superior resistance against atmospheric weathering and aggressive industrial vapours. An integrated internal heating element actively prevents moisture condensation inside the housing during cyclic thermal fluctuations, while optical position indicators and integrated electrical feedback switches (Open, Close, Middle) ensure precise supervisory monitoring within automated SCADA and PLC process loops. This configuration operates without manual override, ensuring process safety against unauthorised local adjustments.

Internal sealing is achieved through a resilient EPDM profile gasket engineered for uniform contact pressure and low operating torque across the entire diameter span from d63 up to d315 mm. Depending on the selected metric dimension, the valve supports nominal pressure classes of 10 bar, 6 bar, or 4 bar at ambient reference temperatures. The streamlined ABS disc profile minimises pressure drop, promotes high flow coefficients, and eliminates deposit accumulation across cooling and treatment circuits.
